Major items:
• The group decided by consensus to establish a 501 (c) (3) for the Hillsdale Community Foundation. Bruce Murray, Dianna and Mike Ponder and Don Baack agreed to present by-laws for the foundation for review prior to the next Alliance meeting. Glenn Bridger mentioned that the current foundation/Alliance account with SWNI should be considered temporary. The group felt it was important for the foundation to have its own identity, and not be part of some other foundation, like the Oregon Community Foundation. The foundation has $10,569.91 in its account. The Light Up Hillsdale campaign owns it $1,787.84.
• The Alliance will hold a summer book sale, although there could be problems with broken windows at the gas station site.
∑ Rick will convene an advisory group for the Hillsdale News, including possibly Peter Thompson, Mike Donahue and Glenn Bridger.
∑ The idea of a community currency was discussed and the group agreed to revisit the idea at the July meeting
The group Adjourned at 9 p.m.
Next Meeting: Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the RE/Max-Equity Group Building.
